Argentina's Art History
Argentina tiene un muy rico arte historia. (Argentina has a very rich art history.) Art in Argentina sprouted in 1852 while the Dictator Juan Manuel de Rosas is overthrown. The sculptures and paintings in Argentina were influenced by the styles of the Europeans.

Impresionismo (Impressionism/ Martín Malharro)

Impresionismo estaba no es muy popular en Argentina, pero Impresionismo estaba grande en Europa. (Impressionism was not really big in Argentina, but impressionism was big in Europe.) Impressionism did not start until around the 1900s. Impressionism is a concentration on immediate visual impression produced by a scene and you use unmixed primary colors and small brushstrokes to stimulate actual reflected light. Martín Malharro had a big impact on the impressionism era. Malharro was born in Azul in the province of Buenos Aires. He ran away from home because he could not live his dream of becoming an artist. Malharro made a living by designing cigaretter labels and business cards. Antonio Bosco trained Malharro in improving his art skills. Alot of his works were landscapes and he bettered his skills in being an impressionist artist. He became the dean at the University of la Plata.
Realismo y Esteticismo (Realism and Aestheticism/ Lola Mora)

Realismo y Esteticismo empecé a cambiar en Argentina en circulación el 1900's (Realism and Aestheticism started to evolve in Argentina around the 1900's.) Realism is defined as the attempt to display or show a subject matter truthfully without making the painting artificial. Also realism tries to avoid the supernatural, fake aspects of a subject matter. Aestheticism focuses on the beuaty aspects of a painting or sculpture. A famous artist during the era of Realism and Aethecticism is Lola Mora. Dolores Candelaria Mora Vega de Hernández also known as Lola Mora is a sculptor who is born in Salta, Argentina. She started off painting but ended up sculpting marble and granite. She sculpted Las Nereidas especially for the city of Buenos Aires.
Muralismo (Muralism / Benito Quinquelo Martín)

En cirulación el 1920's y 1930's Muralismo epecé en Argentina. (Around the 1920s and 1930s Muralism started in Argentina.) Muralism became increasingly popular in Argentina. Muralism is when muralists paint murals directly on wall or ceilings or permanent surfaces. Benito Quinquela Martín is a famous muralists of the muralism era and he is also one of the most famous painters in Argentina. Benito was an Orphan and he also attended an art school at night . His works sometimes appeared in small exhibitions. When Benito Quinquela Martín died, he was buried in a coffin that he painted himself years in advance. One of Benito's famous works is the Crepúsculo en el astillero located in the National Museum of Buenos Aires.
Madí Movement ( Gyula Kosice)

En cirulación el 1940's un grupo de gente en Buenos Aires fundado un abstracto arte aviso Madí (Around the 1940's a group of people in Buenos Aires founded an abstract art movement called Madí.) Madí means, a nonsense word. This art movement take a sophisticated art style and a chaotic type of fun style and combines them to create Madí. Madí style is usually blocks of bright colors which sometimes has physical movement in the structure of the artwork. Madí is somewhere between a painting and a sculpture. The madí movement was short- lived but this movement spread throughout Europe and the United States. One of the Founders of this movement is Gyula Kosice.
